Activities and the Alexander Technique

 

The Alexander Technique can be utilized in any activity you choose.  This may be an everyday activity, work activity or a specialised activity of your choice.

 

 

Performing Arts

The Alexander Technique has become  a foundational training in many professional performing arts schools around the world. It is an integral part of the training at music and drama schools such as NIDA and the Julliard School in New York. It has also been taken up by artists Julie Andrews, William Hurt, Madonna, and Sting, just to name a few.  

 

 

Work Activities

The Alexander Technique can be utilized in work related activities.  Activities such as keyboarding, lifting and communication skills can be effectively explored and enhanced with the technique.

 

 

Relief of Pain

Many students report the relief of pain and anxiety through the study of the technique.

A study published in 2008 by the British Medical Journal revealed that the Alexander Technique has a long term benefit for patients with chronic back pain.
